A Poem for an Old Man
David is a previous editor of the Australian Friend
I treasure each moment we have together
And treasure each morn waking again
A week is a bonus, a month even more
A year, celebration toasting for more
Past times we travelled oblivious of time.
Parties and birthdays dotted the line
Relics collected and old folks moved on
Relentless the journey that takes us along
It’s the moment that matters each breath that we take
The vision of now is the scene to embrace
Talking with friends is a full cup of joy
A sense of togetherness. Let’s enjoy.
