You who walked Galilee on still days like today,
You also walked in turbulence,
where every boat moored,
strained against its anchor.
You who knew the churning that would make us seasick,
if we didn’t centre on a single point.
You who would know the gusts that demand
every hand on deck to pull rigging
You are also the one who said . . . “Peace! Be still!”
You know the contrasts. You have been in the thick of the heaving.
Be our Life
our Sweetness
and our Hope . . .
