Speaking into silence

of things that are true

 

The air on my shirt

The breath entering my lungs

 

My feet touch the floor , the earth

my head enters the sky

there is a world

around me

around you

 

 

Speaking into silence

of things that are true

 

Is there another connection

than the physical

For us in this room

can silence join

in a communion

 

Some ether

that can enter our lungs

 

Some meaning

not spoken in silence

 

Undo all the locks

Undo all the locks

Fling open the front door

Push out the back door

Raise all the windows

 

Let my love in

Let the sunlight in

Let it fade all the ink

In each and every book

 

Let the wind in

Let it rush and twirl

Around each corner of the house

Creating chaos from order

 

Let the rain in

let its drops fall on every surface

running down

to baptise my shoes, my floor

 

my eyes are open

I look at the myriad colours of the sky

Baby, corn flower and azure blue

Butting up against pure white, fierce grey and pink clouds

 

Lemon myrtle scent fills my lungs

And I smell as a child

Sweet and intense

Capturing the new world

 

The magpies chords are incessant

Unique and stark

They hold a truth that I can sense

But never know

 

Undo the locks

Of my spirit

I am fatigued from living with this trauma

Let my love in

 

Let the light fade all the stories

of anguish, of separation

let me bask

in the milliard nameless colours  

 

Let the wind

Turn over the constructions of my mind

So I sit in stillness

With those sweet scents

 

Let those sky drops

Start new life

Start a new chord

Let my love in
