We were on our way to Meeting for Worship at Wadham House in Mt. Waverley.  We drove down Clayton Rd as usual but then something caught my eye.

On the left-hand side of the road, in the midst of the Clayton Road shopping centre, there was a fence pushed in/dented.  But the thing which caught both our eyes was a bunch of roses stuck in that damaged fence.  Mmmm…  often flowers are placed by the site of a traffic accident where someone has died.  We wondered…

I could tell the bunch of roses came from a supermarket.  The wrapper indicated this.  Perhaps the person only had a limited amount of funds.  But the fact that the roses were white (for purity?) made us realise that this was almost certainly an act of love and an indication of grief, perhaps profound and very fresh.

Without speaking, we both prayed for the person who died and person who was grieving for them.

I continued this prayer in our corporate Worship.

There are spiritual minutiae all around us.  They always consist of love.
